What is a heat-transfer film? Many people commonly refer to it as a lettering film. As industry insiders, we’re thoroughly familiar with heat-transfer films, but for those who aren’t in the field, they might not even know the basics of heat‑transfer printing. Now, let me share some key information about heat-transfer films!
What is Heat transfer film ? Many people commonly refer to it as an engraved label. As industry insiders, we’re thoroughly familiar with heat-transfer films, but for those who aren’t in the field, they might not even know the basics of heat‑press application. Now, let me share some essential information about heat‑transfer films!

What is heat transfer film made of?
1. Substrate: The thermal transfer film serves as the carrier for the release layer, the printing layer, and the adhesive layer. Thermal transfer substrates include PET film, OPP film, PVC film, and others. The appropriate substrate should be selected based on the specific requirements of the product; otherwise, the quality of the thermal transfer product may be compromised.
2. Release layer: A coating of release agent that remains solid at room temperature, melts at a specified temperature, reduces adhesion to the substrate, and enables rapid detachment from the base film without leaving any adhesive residue.
3. Printing Layer: This layer is Heat transfer film The foundation of aesthetic appeal lies in the careful selection and combination of heat‑transfer inks. Once the heat‑transfer process is complete, only the printed layer remains on the surface of the product; therefore, choosing the right materials for this layer is crucial, as an ill‑considered choice can compromise the quality of the final output.
Four steps to resolve defects in heat-transfer film hot stamping:
1. Keep the machine clean: Ensure that the machine’s critical components are free of oil and dust; keep the heat-transfer film clean, free of fingerprints and dust; maintain the printed materials free of dust and oil; and keep the operator’s hands clean, free of oil and sweat.
2. Hot-stamping temperature: The hot-stamping temperature significantly affects the quality of heat-transfer products. If the temperature is too high, the substrate may be damaged; if it is too low, proper transfer may not occur. The ironing temperature should be determined based on factors such as the substrate, the transfer film, and the heat-transfer machine. Different materials require different ironing temperatures.
3. Hot stamping pressure: Heat transfer film The hot stamping pressure must be set to an appropriate level; if it is too high, it can damage both the stamping head and the substrate, while too low a pressure will compromise the stamping quality. Once the pressure has been adjusted, it should be secured and locked to prevent variations during mass production.
